Marlton owner masters art of brick oven pizza

Pizza. It is a symbol of Italian culture that has flourished since its journey to America.

But unlike in Italy, we Americans have turned the traditional dish into fast food, stopping ourselves from enjoying the cheesy treat fully.

Chef Frank Masso hopes to change the way Americans approach mealtime by serving up fresh brick oven pizza and other authentic Italian dishes at his new Gran Forno Pizzeria and Catering in Marlton. "I want them to feel like they're eating in a small trattoria or osteria in Italy," Masso said. "One thing is to take your time eating, to enjoy what you're having and camaraderie with everyone else."
