Residents will have a new spot to satisfy their Italian food cravings at The Shop starting next month. The part-eatery, part old-world market is set to open in January at the former 2,300-square-foot space Café Villa occupied for 25 years, between Blue Foundry Bank and Noah's Bagels, in the Chatham Plaza on Main Street.
Co-owners Vincenzo Bernardo and Christopher Bezzone, who both grew up in Madison, said they want The Shop to be the go-to place for pizza, pasta and sandwiches in the area. "We want to be the place you get a pizza from going back on date night on Friday and Saturday and also feel comfortable bringing a bottle of wine and having a two or three course meal," Bezzone, who now lives in Mendham, said.
