“This is what we call Sunday dinner, every Sunday, you started the sauce on Saturday,” said Eric Nittolo, the owner of Nittolo’s Pizza in Lake Leelanau. Now he is bringing these dishes to you, seven days a week. “My culture, where I come from, you’re born into this, this is not taught, this is intertwined in my DNA, yeah I am an Italian, I make sauce,” he said.
Eric says classic Italian food is just the way he grew up. “When you went to her house, all you did was eat, it was non-stop, even if you weren’t hungry you ate, and if there’s something wrong with you, eat something,” he laughed. Nittolo’s opened almost one year ago in February.
