A local Irish pub is poised to morph into an Italian restaurant, but will remain under the same ownership. Murphy's Irish Pub — which opened in May 2014 in space that previously housed a Barleycorn's at 6204 Wilmington Pike — will become Caramella's Italian Kitchen in early November, co-owner Candace Anderson confirmed to us today.

A tentative timetable, which Anderson said could change, calls for Murphy's Irish Pub to close at the end of business on Oct. 30, and for Caramella's Italian Kitchen to open five days later on Nov. 4.
