Things you can count on: death, taxes and everyone likes Italian. Right? Pretty true in my experience. That's why there's a good long list of local Italian restaurants. So which one? Every Italian restaurant is slightly different, but there are a lot of places that serve spaghetti with red meat sauce and associated dishes, sometimes with pizza. Sorrento's Italian Joint in Norwood is the most recent to enter that particular Italian space.
Well, of course, that's not exactly right. Sorrento's originally opened in 1956 and became a popular hot spot for families and sports teams. Willie DeLuca was the jovial host, known for balancing things on his nose and collecting all kinds of pop culture and sports memorabilia.
