The revitalization of Avondale (IL) along Milwaukee Avenue continues as the area’s newest restaurant, Void, has opened. Void opened last week at 2937 N. Milwaukee Ave. after an extensive renovation to the space, which was formerly Moe’s Tavern, an old-school dive bar that closed during the pandemic after more than 10 years in business.
Void serves up contemporary Italian-American cuisine with pasta, meatballs and focaccia made in-house and dishes using locally sourced meats. The restaurant is from friends Pat Ray, Tyler Hudec and Dani Kaplan, who have over 15 years of restaurant and bar experience in Chicago. They met while working at Logan Square bar Analogue, which closed in 2016.
