An Italian American cafe named after a Philadelphia sports team will open a new location in north Marion County soon. Flyers Cafe is gearing up for its grand opening on June 1. The new cafe is located at 18651 N US Hwy 301 in Citra.
Located in Longo Plaza, the space was formerly occupied by Ted’s Restaurant, which closed its doors after over 15 years in business amidst rising operational costs. Owned and operated by Michele Valadez and Mark Hurst, Flyers Cafe gets its name from the National Hockey League team of the same name, which plays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
