South Tampa got another carb-lover option when Palazzo Pizza opened on Platt Street Thursday within a building that’s been abandoned for the better part of a decade. According to a press release, the restaurant takes “inspiration from Boston and Italy” which include Boston’s North End-style meatballs, a Tampa Italian salad, and a Cinnamon Toast Crunch dessert.

Customers can choose from dine-in, takeout or delivery options. Slices are only available as “Late Night Hyde Park Cafe Specials” after 10 p.m. Thurs.-Sat. in honor of Palazzo’s nightclub neighbor. Palazzo—located at 1818 W. Platt St.—celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting with Mayor Jane Castor and a “Pizzarilla” celebration last Thursday.
