Since Portobello opened at Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs) in 2008, it's been a favorite spot for families looking for a meal that will please everyone. Now that Disney Springs has molded itself into an elite dining destination with loads of top-class talent behind the stoves (Wolfgang Puck, Jose Andres, Rick Bayless, Masaharu Morimoto), the restaurant is especially popular with families looking for excellent quality food adults and kids alike will love, just without the animatronic dinosaurs (T-REX Restaurant) and gorillas (Rainforest Cafe).
In 2018, Levy Restaurants, owner and operator of Portobello alongside chef/partner and James Beard Award-winner Tony Mantuano, rebranded the restaurant as Terralina Crafted Italian. It remains ultrapopular, and reservations are highly recommended. I recently sat down with Mantuano and his executive chef, Orlando native Justin Plank, to chat about the restaurant's evolution.
