Hyde Park Village has announced the signing of a new lease with Sorrento Sweets, an old-world Italian bakery, at 716 S Village Circle. Sorrento Sweets was founded in Pasco County and this new location will sell Italian cakes, pastries and cookies made out of its Pasco facility. That, plus gelato shakes, gelato floats, espresso drinks and more. Sorrento Sweets will open in Hyde Park Village this fall.
Salvatore Paturzo, master baker and partner, was born and raised in Sorrento, Italy, where he took over his father’s bakery at 10. For more than 16 years, he and his wife Rose have operated Sorrento’s in Pasco County, known for baked goods and family recipes from the 1960s. Also slated to open soon in Hyde Park Village are Station House, Meat Market and Clean Juice.
