The year of the pandemic records a historic record for Italian pasta exports, which in 2020 have exceeded 3.1 billion, recording a double-digit growth (+16%) compared to the previous twelve months. In clear countertendency with respect to the general trend of exports of products made in Italy.
Among the most significant data recorded by the agricultural organization, the one concerning the United States stands out, which, thanks to the pandemic, has become the largest consumer of Italian pasta in the world, obviously after ours: "thanks to the pandemic, the United States has become the largest consumer of Italian pasta outside the national borders, thanks to a record increase of 40%, overtaking France (+4.3%) and Germany (+16%).
