Gone are the days when Italian architecture overseas was only represented by Renzo Piano and Massimiliano Fuksas: today, exported Italian design has many faces, including those of designers younger than 40 and 50 whom are known in Europe and throughout the world.
Among successful designers, Fabrizio Barozzi should certainly be mentioned. His Philharmonic Hall of Szczecin in Poland - designed along with his colleague, Alberto Veiga, with whom he founded the Barozzi-Veiga studio in Barcellona in 2004 - won the Mies van der Rohe Award in 2015, the prestigious EU prize for contemporary architecture which was awarded in Barcellona this May.
