An Italian startup from Turin is tackling one of the most persistent problems in the global food industry: food waste. Agreenet has developed a groundbreaking solution to reduce the environmental impact of discarded produce. The startup focuses on transforming food waste, particularly fruit and vegetables, into sustainable and valuable products by harnessing the power of natural processes.
About a third of the food produced is lost or wasted, and this percentage rises to 50% when it comes to fruits and vegetables, one of the food categories most loved by Italians. However, it’s common to see moldy fruits in our home refrigerators or even already on supermarket shelves, like lemons and strawberries.
