This weekend Italy will hold regional and municipal elections. About 22 million voters are eligible to choose the government of seven Regions, Veneto and Liguria in the North, Tuscany, Umbria and Marche in the Center and Campania and Puglia in the South.
Voters are also called to elect more than 1,000 municipalities. Among them there are also important cities like Venice, Rovigo, Lecco, Arezzo, Macerata, Fermo, Chieti, Mantua, Matera, Nuoro and Agrigento. Voting stations will remain open between 07:00 and 23:00 on Sunday May 31, excluding Sicily where they will stay operative until Monday June 1. First exit polls are expected to be available about one hour later.
