The arcades of Bologna will be the Italian candidacy for 2020 to the UNESCO World Heritage List. This was decided by the Governing Council of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, which met this morning at the headquarters of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. The arcades of Bologna will be the Italian postcard, a “nomination” on which the Municipality has worked intensely; the outcome in 2021, in Paris.
“A great and well-deserved achievement for Bologna – declares the mayor Virginio Merola – a result of the whole city. Bologna, once again, has been able to express its deepest character: the ability to collaborate together and united for our city. I thank the municipal administration, the councilors involved in this impressive work and all the offices whose contribution has been and will be decisive “.
