Giorgio Armani, the legendary Italian fashion designer, has passed away at the age of 91, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy that transformed the fashion industry. Known for his minimalist approach and impeccable tailoring, Armani revolutionised both menswear and womenswear, establishing a brand synonymous with timeless elegance and understated luxury.
Born in Piacenza, Italy, in 1934, Armani initially pursued a career in medicine before transitioning into fashion. He began his journey as a window dresser and later worked for renowned fashion houses, including Nino Cerruti, before co-founding his own label in 1975 with architect Sergio Galeotti. Without formal fashion education, Armani’s innate understanding of style and design propelled him to international acclaim.
