Professors Lisa Colletta, Associate Professor of English within the Communications and English Program, and James Walston, Chair of the International Relations and Global Politics Program, celebrated July 4th at the University for Foreigners in Reggio, Calabria, where they were invited to speak at the Tabularasa 2013 conference, which examined the strong ties between Italian and American cultures.
Their talks specifically focused on the way these connections developed in the 70 years since Allied troops landed on the beaches of Reggio on September 3 of 1943, an event which opened a new chapter in Italian-American relations, both politically and culturally.
