The 2025 Blue Flags have been announced, recognizing Italy’s best beaches by the FEE – Foundation for Environmental Education. This year, 246 seaside and lakeside locations were awarded, along with 84 tourist marinas. That’s 10 more municipalities than in 2024 that can now boast the prestigious Blue Flag 2025 recognition.
The total number of excellent Italian beaches has reached 487—accounting for 11.5% of all Blue Flag beaches worldwide. These results confirm a steady growth trend over recent years: in 2022 there were 210 awarded municipalities, in 2023 there were 226, and in 2024 the number rose to 236.
