Here we go! From June 26th to 28th, we’ll once again be welcoming our friends from Fullerton (U.S.A.), the city where Tommy Lasorda lived and with which the town of Tollo is twinned. After last October’s visit — which included a stop from the Mayor of the sister city, Bruce Whitaker — this time we’ll be hosting a group of students from Fullerton, who will stay in the homes of some of our local youth and friends.
On Thursday, we’ll have lunch at Feudo Antico. Afterward, they’ll take a tour of the Roman-era archaeological findings and the winery, and then be welcomed by Mayor Angelo Radica at City Hall. They’ll also visit the Tommy Lasorda Museum and explore Tollo, all the way to the Enomuseum.
On the 27th, they’ll be our guests at the Tommy Lasorda Field. After lunch, there will be a softball game with our girls and boys from the baseball team, who will wear the special Tommy Lasorda Day jerseys for the occasion!
And... on Friday evening, starting at 7:30 PM, we’ll celebrate the Tollo–Fullerton bond with a party featuring traditional dishes like pecora alla callara, arrosticini, and ribatte.
On the 28th, it’ll be time for our final goodbyes, as our friends continue their journey — with the hope that we’ll see each other again soon, maybe in California!
A heartfelt thanks in advance to all those who have been working hard for weeks to ensure the warmest possible welcome.
