Luca Guadagnino’s intoxicating new film Call Me by Your Name is undoubtedly one of the best the year has to offer. As I mentioned in my rave review of the film last week, it’s lush, erotic, riveting, and so very delightful. That being said, I found it rather interesting when Guadagnino revealed his interest in following-up the adaptation of André Aciman’s acclaimed first novel with several different sequels that will continue the story of Elio (Timothée Chalamet) and Oliver (Armie Hammer) and their relationship.
“These characters are so fantastic, and I want to know what happens to them,” Guadagnino said during a recent interview with The Guardian, whose critics voted Call Me by Your Name the best film of 2017.
