"Taste Atlas," an online portal that reports on the world's best food and wine experiences, in its "100 best cheeses in the world 2023-2024" ranking has crowned Parmigiano Reggiano as the world's best cheese. Second is Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, which takes the lead and in the "soft cheese" section. Completing the all-Italian podium is Stracchino di Crescenza, in third place. Sixth is Burrata, among the most sought-after Italian cheeses abroad.
Grana Padano takes 11th place. Other Italian cheeses in the "Taste Atlas" ranking include Pecorino Romano, in thirteenth place, Sardinian cheese in seventeenth and Tuscan cheese in twentieth. In twenty-first place, on the other hand, is Provolone del Monaco. And again in thirtieth place we find Stracciata and in thirty-fifth place Provola. In forty-seventh place is Gorgonzola Piccante and in forty-ninth place Taleggio, which completes the group of Italian cheeses in the first half of the ranking.
