In a spring marked by an extraordinary increase in flights between Italy and the United States, Delta Airlines inaugurated its new route between Rome and Minneapolis on Saturday May 24. The connection will operate four times a week until the end of summer with a 282-seat A330-300 aircraft, offering Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin service classes.
Minneapolis/St. Paul is Delta's second-largest hub after its main base in Atlanta and will give passengers the opportunity to continue their journey with connecting flights to destinations throughout North America and beyond.
Thanks to this new route, Delta confirms its position as the American airline operating the highest number of flights from Rome to the United States: during summer 2025, it will operate up to 110 weekly flights between Italy and the U.S., including 8 daily departures from Rome Fiumicino to New York JFK, Atlanta, Boston, and Detroit.
Rome remains a highly sought-after destination for American tourists. According to a recent Delta survey, it ranks third among the most desired vacation spots for Americans for summer 2025.
