Spilimbergo is a small town sitting along the banks of the Tagliamento River, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Known as Italy’s City of Mosaics, it has recently earned the distinction of being one of the country’s Borghi più Belli d’Italia, an accolade bestowed on villages and hamlets around Italy that manage to preserve and valorize their history and traditions, while also focusing on key contemporary concepts like sustainability, ecology, and accessibility. 

The town’s origins go back to the Middle Ages when it emerged as a vital center for trade and commerce. Its strategic location made it a lively trade hub  that supported both economic growth and cultural exchange.
