The medals collected by the Italian men and women athletes at the 2023 European Games in Poland total 100. There are 35 golds, 26 silvers, and 39 bronzes for a record-breaking edition in which the Azzurri dominated the medal table while also taking home victory in the points standings.
Spain picks up just over half the medals left by Italy - 57 podiums, including 21 golds, 17 silvers and 19 bronzes - while the United Kingdom, Germany and France are far behind. "Simply fantastic" - comments Coni president Giovanni Malagò - "the Italy Team honored their country at its best, living the Krakow 2023 European Games as a protagonist."
" Far more than a positive sign ahead of the 2024 Olympics test in Paris. A goal toward which Italy is approaching "with the awareness of its potential and with the goal of giving many more joys to its supporters." "A historic, record-breaking edition, in which Italian sport once again demonstrated its strength, in all disciplines. My thanks go to the athletes, coaches and all the officials who made it possible to write this beautiful, unique and indelible page," Malagò further added.
