Another triumph for the Italian cycling, another victory in the 2021 of the Italian sport. Merit, this time, of the 21 year-old Jonathan Milan, born in Tolmezzo and resident in Buja - the country of Alessandro De Marchi, Wednesday winner of the Agostoni Cup - that, after having conquered the Olympic gold with the quartet of the team pursuit, at the European Championships in the Swiss Grenchen dominates the individual pursuit.

For the tricolor expedition it's the first success in the Swiss continental review. The final, which sees Milan opposed to the Russian Lec Gonov, is without history. Jonathan shows his talent since the first meters. The advantage increases constantly: it is 0"923 after the first km, 2"129 after the second, even 4"247 after the third. He doesn't even reach the end: just before the third km and a half, such is the superiority, Gonov is reached.

The Italian raises his arms to the sky: it's a big party. Milan, with Manlio Moro eighth, collects the best of the baton from Filippo Ganna. The demonstration of class is prestigious. For Jonathan it is the first overall individual victory of his career.
