In occasion of the 450th anniversary of the birth of Galileo Galilei, the Region of Tuscany, in collaboration with the Museo Galileo – Institute and Museum of History and Science of Florence, the Garden of Archimedes – Museum of Mathematics, Museo FirST – Fondazione Scienza e Tecnica, the Comune of Florence, the Caffè-Scienza Cultural Association of Florence, and the Museum of Natural History of the University of Florence, invites all to take part in the annual festivities for Buon compleanno Galileo!
For the space of a month, guided tours and ad hoc activities in participating museums retrace the life and work of Galileo in the Florentine Capital. Tours cover the places most significant to the Galileian history, including Villa Il Gioiello, Palazzo dei Cartelloni and the Basilica su Santa Croce.
