Right in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma in the province of Grosseto stands the beautiful Follonica, the ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday surrounded by a beautiful sea and beautiful landscapes. A very popular tourist destination especially for families for the quiet places, the calm sea and the shallow waters up to several meters from the shore, which also allow children to bathe safely.
But in addition to all this, the town has a lot to tell about its past. Suffice it to say that in 1831 it was one of the most avant-garde steel centers in Italy and still today there are the abandoned factories of the Ilva foundries that are located right in the town.
