Italy won the title of European Polo Champion today, Sunday, September 19 in Sotogrande, Spain. The Azzurri, who began the 2021 edition as reigning champions thanks to the gold medal won at home in 2018, held on to the title by beating Austria 6 to 5 in the final.
Italy remains, therefore, on the roof of Europe with a gold medal around its neck, just as it is already looking ahead to the Women's European Championship scheduled at the Polo Club La Mimosa in Pogliano Milanese from September 21 to 26. This is a result that comes at a time when our Federation is working hard to ensure that polo can be included among the disciplines of the Winter Olympics.
