How the Owners of a Beloved Positano Hotel Are Preparing for a Quiet Summer

In Italy’s normally bustling cliffside village of Positano, Carla and Antonio Sersale, owners of the renowned five-star hotel Le Sirenuse, would typically be gearing up for a summer of entertaining international tourists—not to mention friends and family, including their two sons, who currently reside in Miami. Instead they predict a season in which their visitors will be fellow Italians.

“As a community, we’re thinking about the local market again,” Antonio says. As part of an effort to rebuild morale, Le Sirenuse and four other celebrated Italian properties have raised 200,000 euros through the Amalfi Voucher Program, contributing to medical research toward a COVID-19 vaccine.
