Two leading international science journals—Scientific Reports and Advanced Optical Materials—have recently spotlighted groundbreaking research from Italian teams demonstrating a novel communication system using visible light (VLC) and fluorescent optical antennas in real-world applications, revealing its strong potential.
The system, developed and tested at the laboratories of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, Tuscany, shows that stable, low-cost wireless data transmission is achievable using standard white LEDs and fluorescent solar concentrators (LSCs).
