The jewelry sector remains resilient to the economic downturn affecting other areas of European manufacturing, and Italy holds the top position in the continent. In 2023, the total value of jewelry production within the European Union reached €4.363 billion, marking a 1% increase from €4.321 billion in 2022.
Italy remains the largest producer among the 27 EU member states, with a production value of €1.559 billion in 2023, accounting for 36% of the EU total. France follows with a 33% share and a production value of €1.444 billion. Together, Rome and Paris represent nearly 70% of the continent's total jewelry production.
