According to various media a team of physicists working at Federico II University in Naples reproduced in a lab a very small scale of the spacetime tunnel known as the ‘Einstein-Rosen bridge’, or Wormole, and described in the theory elaborated by Albert Einstein and Nathan Rosen in the 1930s.
The coordinator of the international group that carried out the research is Salvatore Capozziello, physicist at Naples Federico II University, as well as member of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) and president of the Italian Society of General Relativity and Gravitational Physics (SIGRAV). Capozziello said the theory speculates for spacetime to be perforated, “it is a fascinating and futuristic hypothesis that implies the possibility to go from one spacetime area to another and to connect parallel universes.”
