Italy is open for travel again. For many Europeans at least, including Brits. And hotels are reopening from city to country and coast. Other tourists should be welcome starting July 1, as Europe’s travel ban unwinds. American vacationers will probably have to hold off a bit longer.
A study has shown Americans are dreaming of their next Italy trip. Despite not knowing when they can travel again. “Not just dreaming but also booking,” says Italian tourism consultant Giulio Gambardella. “Even if the number of bookings is not so significant, what is interesting is the great ongoing appeal of Italy for Americans. Rome is the first destination–attracting about 90% of interest.
