It was an incredible Sunday for Italian volleyball, which yesterday won the men's under18 European title, the women's under21 European title, the men's under22 European title and, most importantly, the senior women's Volleyball National League: all in one phenomenal day.
At the end of a splendid match won 3-0, the extraordinary Italian volleyball athletes, who already hold the European Champion title, beat Brazil in Ankara, Turkey, winning the Volley Nations League for the first time in history. It was an exciting match that crowns an incredible journey that started right in Ankara last May. Today, as then, it was Paola Egonu, with 21 points, who was the best scorer, but it was the whole team that offered a majestic performance.
At the end of the final the individual prizes were awarded. In the ideal sextet there are four Italian players: Bosetti best setter together with the Brazilian Carol, Orro best setter, De Gennaro best libero and Egonu best opposite. For our Paola Egonu also the satisfaction of the MVP award of the whole event.
