Conegliano secured the title of Volleyball Women’s Club World Champions by triumphing over China’s Tianjin Bohai Bank in a resounding 3-0 victory in Hangzhou, China. This win marked Conegliano's third world title, having previously claimed the championship in 2019 and 2022. The Italian team dominated the tournament, maintaining an impeccable record by winning every match in straight sets.
Conegliano’s victory in the Club World Championship capped an extraordinary year for the team, as they achieved the rare and prestigious Grand Slam in 2024. Earlier in the year, the Italian squad clinched titles in the Italian Championship, Italian Cup, Champions League, and Italian Super Cup, solidifying their dominance in both national and international volleyball.
This season-long success reflects the meticulous planning, robust team chemistry, and exceptional talent within the squad, led by a coaching staff that consistently sets high standards.
The final against Tianjin showcased Conegliano’s superior tactics and skill. Despite the strong opposition led by Chinese national team stars, the Italian club's cohesion, defensive prowess, and efficient attacking strategies proved insurmountable. Haak’s performance was especially noteworthy as she consistently found gaps in Tianjin’s defenses, while Wołosz ensured seamless transitions between defense and attack.
Adding to Italy’s success in the tournament, another Italian club, Vero Volley Milano, claimed third place by defeating Brazil’s Dentil Praia Clube. This victory further highlighted the strength and depth of Italian women’s volleyball, which continues to excel on the global stage. Vero Volley’s performance in securing a podium finish underscores the competitive quality of Italy’s domestic league, a breeding ground for world-class talent.
The tournament also saw an incredible display of sportsmanship and a celebration of women’s volleyball, with players from different countries showcasing their unique skills. Conegliano’s victory in Hangzhou stands as a crowning achievement in their illustrious history, reaffirming their position as one of the most formidable teams in the world of volleyball.
