Italy shone brightly at the 2025 European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), delivering a historic performance: three gold medals and one silver (just one point shy of gold), securing first place in the official ranking for European teams. With this result, Italy was crowned the EGMO 2025 European champion.
In the overall ranking—which includes guest teams from around the world—Italy placed fourth behind China, the US, and Australia. The Italian team consisted of: Anna Kazhamiakina from Liceo Galilei in Trento (gold medal), Barbara Catino from Liceo Volta in Milan and Giulia Comini from Liceo Calini in Brescia (gold medals), Matilde Iannaccone from Liceo Dini in Pisa (silver medal).
