In 2025, both the number of cruise passengers in Italy and the number of ships calling at Italian ports are expected to increase. In Liguria, nearly one in six tourists comes from cruise ships—no other region comes close to this figure.
According to forecasts, in 2025, cruise passengers in Italy will reach 15.3 million, marking a 6.9% increase compared to 2024. The number of ship calls will also rise to 5,515, a 7% increase from last year. Additionally, Italy maintains a leading position in Europe in terms of passenger traffic, which reached a record 14.2 million in 2024 (+3% compared to 2023).
