The Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) has published a report on Italy’s economic situation, focusing particularly on GDP growth and public debt. The picture that emerges is somewhat mixed: it's positive, at least in part, regarding public finance stability and the state budget, but less encouraging when it comes to economic growth.
Italy is, in fact, currently on a path that is even more virtuous than what was agreed upon with the European Commission regarding the reduction of public spending and the deficit (i.e., the annual budget gap), although public debt continues to rise at a worrying pace.
