Embroidery is a veritable art form, and a very ancient one: the earliest examples of embroidered cloths apparently date back to Ancient Egypt. An art that is not restricted to kindly grandmothers – or women, for that matter.
A young (male) medical student from Milan cut his university studies short, in the 1950s, to follow his passion for embroidery. His name was Pino Grasso. In 1958, he opened a studio of his own in his nativeMilan and to this day, his atelier is one of the most sought-after by the biggest names in international fashion.
