Chronic pain is defined as pain that persists or recurs due to various conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, cancer, fibromyalgia, and more. According to Dr. Fred Tabung, a visiting researcher at Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health, "Much of chronic pain results from systemic, chronic inflammation, which can sometimes be influenced by diet."
Inflammation, while often associated with negative health effects, actually plays a crucial role in healing. When you get injured or have an infection, inflammation triggers the immune system, sending white blood cells to the affected areas to repair tissue or fight off illness.
