Tuscany is known for its stunning landscapes, charming towns, and delicious cuisine. Among the many hidden gems of this region, Monticello stands out as a peaceful retreat for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Located in the heart of Tuscany, Monticello is a small town with a rich history and a relaxed atmosphere.
Its name means “little hill” in Italian, which reflects the town’s position on a gentle rise overlooking the valley of the Arno River. The town has a population of about 2,000 people, and its quiet streets are lined with old stone houses, cobbled alleys, and picturesque gardens. One of the main attractions of Monticello is its beautiful church, the Chiesa di San Biagio.
