
Italians are giving plastic straws the boot. Italian bargoers are going to have to use their noodles to suck down their drinks — some bars are using straws made out of pasta, according to a recent Reddit post. “Here in Italy bars are starting to use pasta as straws to reduce plastic use,” according to the post. “Our technology amazes the world another time.”
A London-based company called Stroodles claims users can “drink easy” and be environmentally responsible by using the flavorless and biodegradable bucatini-like pasta in cold drinks. They’re also vegan and can be easily resized to fit any drink, although they’re not recommended for hot beverages, according to the company.
