Rome’s Fiumicino Airport has been recognized as Europe’s best airport for the seventh time since 2018 in the category of hubs handling over 40 million passengers annually. The announcement came Thursday evening in Athens during the 35th General Assembly of ACI Europe (Airports Council International), the continent’s leading airport association.
According to Aeroporti di Roma, which manages the airport, the prestigious "Best Airport Award" honors airports that stand out for exceptional service, digital transformation, technological innovation, and environmental sustainability. The winners were selected by an independent panel of eight experts representing key European aviation institutions, including the European Commission, Eurocontrol, ITF, ECAC, and SESAR JU.
