September becomes italy’s second summer

More and more Italians are choosing to stretch the holiday season into September. This year, more than eight million people have decided to spend at least part of their summer break after August, taking advantage of lower prices and smaller crowds. As highways fill with returning families and latecomers heading out for their trips, the country is seeing a shift in how vacations are planned.
 
One of the biggest attractions of September travel is cost. As soon as August ends, hotel rates, package tours, and leisure activities can drop by as much as 30 percent. For many households, this makes the difference between staying home and booking that long-awaited getaway.
