Italian soccer remains financially burdened but shows signs of gradual recovery. In the 2023–24 season, professional soccer clubs recorded total debts of around €5.45 billion—an improvement from €5.66 billion the previous year.
Despite this, accumulated losses across Serie A, B, and C over the last 17 years hit €9.3 billion, with 80% of clubs ending seasons in the red. Encouragingly, recent seasons have seen a surge in production value that surpassed €4.5 billion, largely driven by increased revenue from sponsorships, commercial activities, and ticket sales, marking a record high across leagues.
