
In 2013 the number of Italians who moved abroad rose to 82,000, the highest in ten years. The number grew 20.7 percent from 2012, said the latest ISTAT report on the "International and domestic migration of the resident population".
Italians' main destinations when moving abroad in 2013 included the United Kingdom (13,000 migrants), Germany (over 11,000), Switzerland (10,000) and France (8,000).
