Demand between the US/Canada and Rome is significantly higher in the summer, meaning that airline capacity is much greater too. It is a very summer-seasonal market. Serving Italy's capital, Rome Fiumicino expects 2% more US/Canada flights than in summer 2019. With 16 routes, it has up to 29 daily departing services planned.
As of December 20th, seven carriers will have nonstop flights between Rome and the US and Canada next summer. The flights are broken down as follows. Delta: 1,342 departing summer flights; up to 7 daily (25% of the market); American: 1,267; up to 7 daily (24%); ITA: 1,054; up to 5 daily (20%); United: 873; up to 5 daily (16%); Air Canada: 428; up to 3 daily (8%); Air Transat: 257; up to 2 daily (5%); WestJet: 126; up to 3 weekly (2%)
