Alongside the more than 120,000 companies that are already successfully operating abroad, Italy has a “reserve” of approximately 17,000 businesses with the potential to export consistently, but which—due to various reasons—have not yet fully realized this capacity or have done so only sporadically. Unlocking this potential could lead to an estimated increase of 2.6% to 3.0% in total export-related revenue.
Exports play a fundamental role in driving Italy’s GDP growth. Over the past five years, exports of goods by Italian companies have grown by 30%, reaching €623.5 billion. In addition to this, more than €141 billion was generated through the sale of services. These figures highlight the competitiveness of Italian products and the growing importance of advanced services in exports.
