Italy gave the world countless culinary marvels, and some pretty irresistible cocktails, too, like the Negroni, Bellini and Aperol Spritz, the latter becoming the ubiquitous drink of summer in recent years, a festive orange cocktail that brightens aperitvo hours on seaside terraces from Portofino to Taormina.
If you enjoy fizzy drinks when the temperatures soar, you may want to add another sparkling cocktail to your drinks repertoire, one you might not have encountered on trips to Italy unless you traveled to some of the country’s far northern regions: the Hugo Spritz (pronounced without the “h” in Italian).
