As travelers crave authentic experiences that are unique to the destination, Casetta Firenze is launching a truffle-hunting experience as part of its Enrichment Series. Available for guests who book the five-bedroom farmhouse, the expedition will be led by local expert truffle hunters Mauro and Mattia Nesi, along with their adorable and indefatigable hunting dogs Ardesia, Brisa, and Spritz. With an ideal landscape and environmental conditions, Tuscany provides visitors with private forests for prime truffle hunting.
I can tell you from personal experience – I went truffle-hunting with dogs in Switzerland a few years back, and it was one of the most memorable travel experiences of my life. The two-hour Casetta Firenze excursion will take guests through several paths in Lucardo where they will firsthand learn how to find truffles, while gaining a deeper understanding of the truffle itself, its composition, the culinary process, favorite recipes, and much more.
